Street Anthology: A Journey Through London's Streets

Capturing the essence of urban life remains a timeless pursuit. My latest photobook, Street Anthology, is a testament to this enduring art form. This collection is a showcase of my photography in and around London, spanning from the challenging days of 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic to the vibrant present of 2024. Through both black and white and colour images, all shot on film, I aim to capture the raw, unfiltered moments of city life. The photobook is a visual journey that reflects the resilience and spirit of Londoners, offering a unique perspective on the city's dynamic and ever-changing landscape.

Street Anthology is a curated collection of photographs that tell the story of London's streets. From isolated individuals lost in their thoughts to bustling groups navigating the urban landscape, each image offers a unique glimpse into the city's soul. The photobook features a mix of candid shots and carefully composed scenes, highlighting the diversity and dynamism of street photography. Whether it's the stark contrasts of black and white or the vivid hues of colour, each photograph is a piece of the larger narrative of life in London. The images capture the essence of everyday moments, from the quiet solitude of a lone figure on a deserted street to the vibrant energy of a crowded market.

Why Street Anthology?

I've been mulling compiling a photobook for a while. There's a certain therapy to curating your work; and both that, and the starting off point for this collection - the coronavirus pandemic - gelled very nicely for me. So, the idea for Street Anthology was born out of a desire to document the resilience and spirit of Londoners during a time of unprecedented change as well as the aftermath and the changed way our lives are lived in a post-Covid world. The Covid-19 pandemic transformed the way we interact with our surroundings, and I felt compelled to capture these moments of adaptation and perseverance. This photobook is not just a collection of images; it's a visual diary of a city and its people, navigating through a period of uncertainty and emerging stronger. By compiling this collection, I hope to preserve these fleeting moments for future generations to appreciate and reflect upon. The photobook serves as a testament to the power of photography in capturing the human experience, offering a window into the lives of those who call London home.
