Shot on Cinestill 800T using a Kiev 60 TTL with either Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 50mm f/4.0 or Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 180mm f/2.8 lens and macro tubes, this series explores the interplay of light and colour, macro and bokeh.

The prototype project (from which 2 images feature) was shot on Fuji Pro 400H - standard colour negative film stock that served as the basis for the extended project.

The extended project was shot on Cinestill 800T to take advantage of that film stock's unique properties when shot into direct light - namely, halation - due to the film stock's origins as a motion picture film. Originally Kodak Vision3 500T, with a Rem-Jet backing, this has been removed by Cinestill to allow standard C41 processing rather than having to get it processed in ECN-2, but in so doing, removes the anti-halation layer also. Shot without a colour correcting filter in mixed LED light with some daylight from an adjacent window, the blueish colour cast works well with the grey and orange of the elements on which the lights are scattered.
